The Rainbow Six Pro League Season 3 finals are currently taking place in Brazil, an event that we're covering, but we already know some more details about the upcoming Six Invitational via a new announcement on the Pro League website.

The announcement reveals that qualifiers for the biggest Rainbow Six: Siege tournament to date will start on December 6 in Europe, North America, and Latin America, but it'll be a brand new system, as teams will battle it out against one another in a ladder, using the Instant Challenger system.

"Instant Challenger is a smart matchmaking system that automatically selects your opponent and, depending on who you faced and the result of said game, you lose or gain certain number of points. It's basically an ELO system. Each match in the ladder will be a Bo3 game. What's very important, using Instant Challenger system is the only way to find a match on our ladder," the announcement reads.

The ladders in each region will be available during certain times only, which are as follows:

Monday until Friday:

Europe: 18:00 - 00:00 CET
North America: 16:00 - 00:00 PST / 19:00 - 03:00 EST
Latin America: 18:00 - 00:00 BRST

Weekends:

Europe: 14:00 - 00:00 CET
North America: 12:00 - 00:00 PST / 15:00 - 03:00 EST
Latin America: 14:00 - 00:00 BRST

The 16 teams with the highest number of points will then advance to single elimination playoffs, where all games apart from the grand final will use a best-of-three system, moving into best-of-five. The winners of each qualifier playoff will then move onto the Six Invitational, taking place from February 16 to 18 in Montreal, Canada.

APAC, however, will have a separate qualifier, as each of the four sub-regions (Australia-New Zealand, Japan, South-East Asia, and South Korea) will have their own online open qualifier cup, with the winner then going onto the offline qualifier for APAC. The best team will then progress onto the Six Invitational, and there'll be more details soon about this qualifier.
