After an update to Steam's Store UI was confirmed back in September, the much-needed lick of paint has been rolled out onto the public storefront as of this week.

The two most standout features of the update are based around accessibility and personalisation. The sidebar on the left has been given more direct links to the most common destinations, including some less commonly used locations that many will find use for. Also on the left sidebar is a 'recently viewed' section, just in case you need to get back to any games you've looked at previously.

The personalisation is perhaps the biggest improvement to the store, though. In the top right hand corner of every game on the main page, there is a quick menu of options which lets you add the game to your wish-list or never see it again on the front page. If you head into your preferences, you can also filter out Early Access games, software, VR games, and much more. There is also the option to filter out certain tags, so you can finally stop seeing games you don't care for on your frontpage.

Social features are another big part of the store. You can see which games are trending amongst friends, which will help if certain games have social events or updates. Curators have also been expanded greatly, giving you access to reviews and recommendations without having to navigate through troubling menus.

The store update for Steam is massive, and while we've covered a lot here we're only scratching the surface. To read more about the update, head this way. Do you think this will improve your user experience with the store?
