Toki Tori's creators reboot with new twin-stick shooter Rive

A new three-man team emerges from Two Tribe's ashes showing an already playable action-platformer. First trailer and screens inside.

Two Tribes was not completely dead after all, as the Dutch developer just surprisingly came back after a restructuring announced back in January due to Toki Tori 2 failing to set the world on fire. And it seems like they're full of energy, for they have a new game almost ready for several platforms, and developed by "our new base team of just three people". From developers website:

"We call it RIVE and we describe it as ‘the metal wrecking, robot hacking shooter'. It's a 2D shooter / platformer with old school gaming values in a decidedly new school execution. During the game's intense 360 degree shooting and platforming action, players learn to alter the behavior of their robotic enemies by collecting and uploading hacks."

Development of this twin-shooter-like experience is reaching final phases, as Rive will be playable at Gamescom in two weeks time. Two Tribes are hoping to put the game on PC (via Steam), Wii U, Xbox One and PS4, but those three consoles aren't 100% confirmed yet.
