Total War: Arena has had its open beta tests this year, but it turns out that these didn't quite go to plan and the results weren't satisfactory, hence why we've just got the announcement that the game is ceasing live service as of February 22 next year at 10:00 GMT.
As a thank you to the community Creative Assembly is offering a free bit of Total War content to all Arena players on the Wargaming Game Center, and you can choose from:
Total War: MEDIEVAL II - Definitive Edition
Hannibal at the Gates (Total War: ROME II DLC)
Age of Charlemagne (Total War: ATTILA DLC)
Grim and the Grave (Total War: WARHAMMER DLC)
"Unfortunately, during the open beta, the game didn't meet the expectations either Wargaming or Creative Assembly had for the title, and it was decided to bring development to an end," the FAQ said when talking about why exactly it's closing down.
You also can't make purchases any more in the in-game shop, so things are starting to really wind down before February.
Are you sad to see it go?
