The Ubisoft event, #UbiE3, was once again hosted by the delightful Aisha Tyler, who was on top form with her referential jokes. This year marks Ubisoft's 30th birthday, which was was of course mentioned. The conference started with a bright, and colourful bang, which eventually revealed itself to be Just Dance.

Just Dance 2017

A fully choreographed and, honestly, bizarre dance routine kicked off the conference. We were treated to lions, giraffes and neck ruffles during the opening number. After this Tyler took to the stage to welcome us to the conference and give us details regarding Just Dance 2017. The franchises' latest title will be out on all platforms including PC in October, and the Nintendo NX next year.

Ghost Recon: Wildlands

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands was the second game in Ubisoft's press event. Ubisoft revealed a slick new CGI trailer and a lengthy piece of gameplay. They repeated that Wildlands can be played both solo and cooperatively. However the game does seem to look more fun in co-op. The lengthy gameplay that they showed focused on co-op action, it followed four players taking part in a mission in Wildlands' massive open world (apparently it's the biggest open world that they have ever done).

South Park: The Fractured but Whole

This is an ad:

South Park: The Fractured but Whole was announced at last year's E3 and has since gone dark, until now. Ubisoft showed it off and in traditional South Park fashion, it was crude, funny, risqué and rude. The game's story this time revolves around super heroes.

They showed off some gameplay and a trailer. The game, like the first one, retains the show's unique brand of humour. The combat is still turn based but, is definitely more in depth than the combat in the Stick of Truth. Ubisoft surprised everyone when they said that the game will release on December 6 and if you pre-order, you get The Stick of Truth for PS4 or Xbox One for free.

The Division

Julian Gerighty, creative director at Massive, took to the stage to bring us all the new info on the next DLC for Tom Clancy's The Division. The Underground will take place below the streets of a ruined New York City. Giving agents a slew of new missions, items, and areas to explore. In the DLC will be fighting against a "dangerous threat hidden beneath the streets of NYC." Every time you play, the challenge is unique, resulting in what the devs are calling endless replayability, and increasingly better rewards on each mission. Underground is set to release on June 28 on Xbox One and PC, and August 2 for PS4.

They also announced three exclusive outfits are to be released into the game to celebrate Ubisoft's 30th birthday. The outfits are themed around Ghost recon, Rainbow Six, and Splinter Cell. Members of Ubisoft Club get the three outfits for free. The final announcement was about next paid expansion. In Survival players must fight to endure harsh weather, and struggle with meagre resources.

Eagle Flight VR

One of Ubisoft's new VR games was shown some more attention, and we got a look at what Eagle Flight looks like in action. The game puts the player behind the eyes of an eagle and lets them fly around the city of Paris which has been reclaimed by nature. It is supported on the Oculus Rift, but does not yet have a release date.

Star Trek Bridge Crew

To show off their new Star Trek VR game, Bridge Crew, Ubisoft called in some big Star Trek names to play the game and get some opinions from real crew.

Amongst these was Levar Burton, who played Geordi La Forge in Star Trek: The Next Generation. He appeared on stage to give his opinion, saying of the game: "You don't have to imagine in this game. You are existing in a completely rendered environment, you are on the bridge of a star ship and you're with your friends, it's pretty cool." It is set to launch this autumn.

For Honor

Ubisoft's medieval action game was shown off in greater detail during the show. All that had been revealed up until now was multiplayer. Now Ubisoft revealed gameplay from the campaign, which showed off the Vikings raiding a Japanese castle. The combat looks to have improved since we last saw the game. Not much is known about the campaign as of yet but will more than likely be detailed more in the future. For Honor releases February 14 2017. Ah, the romance.

Grow Up

The sequel to Grow Home, Grow Up, expands the universe of little bud the robot and lets us play with his wacky physics even more (that's not a euphemism, honest). The ability to grow plants wherever the player wants brings a new dimension to the game and loads of new puzzles. Grow Up will be released this August on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Trials of the Blood Dragon

Trials of the Blood Dragon was announced during the Ubisoft conference and it combines both Trials and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. The game features a unique art style which again blends both games. The biggest news about this game is; it is out now, it launched as soon as Ubisoft's press conference finished.

Watch_Dogs 2

Ubisoft saved their biggest game till near the end. Watch Dogs 2 was shown off in a rather grand fashion and they revealed some gameplay and a new trailer (which was flashy but gives off a better vibe than the original Watch Dogs did). The gameplay they demonstrated showcased a lot of the new hacking mechanics in Watch Dogs 2, like hacking multiple people to create a distraction and remotely hacking a car. We also saw the drone in action more. The drone can be used in a variety of ways, it can be used to create a distraction, to survey an area and we are also able to hack from the drone as well. Watch Dogs 2 looks to have improved greatly since the first instalment. Let's just hope it lives up to its potential come November 15.

Steep

The final announcement at Ubisoft's conference was the launch of their new IP, Steep. This is a multiplayer game focusing on extreme sports like snowboarding, skiing and paragliding. The teaser trailer, shows various stunts throughout the Alps mountain range. The teaser ends by reinforcing the fact that players can share everything, from crashes to stunts and everything in between. Steep will be available this December.
