Ubisoft chief Yves Guillemot joined veteran Ubisoft presenter Aisha Tyler during the publisher's E3 press conference to unveil a new IP, For Honor.
The game, which Guillemot describes as being in a new genre for the publisher will, by the looks of it, feature knights, vikings and samurai warriors battling it out with swords and similarly themed weapons in typical ancient battlefields.
The developers hit the stage promising something described as the art of battle, "you will feel the weight of the weapon in your hand" creative director Jason VandenBerghe told the assembled audience - it sounds like they're promising a visceral experience. Two teams of four then took to the stage to show a live multiplayer match, and we saw gameplay with individual soldiers fighting 1v1, and charging as part of a larger unit.
The charismatic creative director confirmed that the game will be playable at E3 tomorrow, which isn't helpful for anyone not currently in LA, so for the rest of us we've been told to head to forhonorgame.com for more info on how to get involved.
