Ubisoft's winter sports game Steep is getting ready for the Winter Olympics with the Road to the Olympics expansion, and game director Arnaud Ragot has recently spoken to us about the state of the game right now compared to its launch at the end of 2016.

"It's as if we had added a third of the existing offer," he explained. "Steep is now a completely different game from the one that came out in 2016. We have been constantly evolving the formula, adding new sports, new mountains, and changes in slow motion or tricks execution"

"We're on our eleventh patch! The players who join us today will never know the initial game and enjoy a much better experience. This is the principle of a 'live' game like this one."

When asked how long the game could last, he replied: "As long as it takes! As long as we have ideas and a community that supports it, we will continue to enrich the offer by proposing new things. It's a game we created to share our passion with the players. And we are proud to touch so many different people: creative players who have achieved incredible feats, some who came for the competition aspect, others for freestyle or simply to relax and enjoy the scenery. Everyone can find something to enjoy."

REVIEW. Written by Kieran Harris

"The awe-inspiring open world is a technical marvel, and while it's submerged in snow and ice in its entirety, there is still plenty of variation."
