Following its prior postponement, Ubisoft has now detailed the plans for the upcoming Six Invitational 2021, the biggest event in the competitive Rainbow Six: Siege calendar year. The tournament is hoping to take place between May 11 and May 23, in Paris, France, without an in-person and following strict sanitary measures.

However, due to the French government recently announcing that all flights between Brazil and France are suspended, the team is now looking at all possible options to ensure that the six Brazilian teams can compete in the tournament.

We've previously seen other teams state they will be unable to partake in the event due to its date change and the difficulty of attending an in-person event in the current global state, but lacking six teams, from one of the most competitive regions, would severely hamper the quality and competitive integrity of the tournament.

Ubisoft has stated, "More information will be communicated soon, including updated Health and Safety measures based on the latest local authorities guidelines", and that it is "dedicated to bringing you the best Six Invitational possible." So, hopefully we'll still get the event that is the highlight of the game's competitive calendar year.
