Just the other day we shared a story with you regarding some of the perceived inconsistencies seen in Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection, after the release of a comparison video showing what looked to be some strange additions to the newly remastered collection.

It seems that what was shown in Polygon's original comparison video isn't as clear cut as we all initially thought, and one YouTube user called SupJamChan has produced his own video explaining why the site (and the rest of us who covered the story) was wrong.

The conversation centred around the strange looking fella in the cutscene at the beginning of Assassin's Creed II when Ezio's picking a fight with his local rivals in the street. He looks a bit weird, and he wasn't in the footage showing the original. Case closed? Far from it.

In fact, it turns out that the NPCs in the game, even in cutscenes like this, are randomly generated. We had a look, and we didn't see him either in our version either.

"The NPC in question only appears in Sequence 1, Memory 1 in Assassin's Creed 2 and is randomly generated, appearing infrequently," a Ubisoft spokesperson explained to Kotaku. "The graphics issue does not affect the core gameplay of Assassin's Creed The Ezio Collection.

"Overall, Assassin's Creed The Ezio Collection has been well-received by fans and newcomers to the franchise alike. Here at Ubisoft, we've been happy to read all the great feedback from gamers as they've stepped back in time to relive the adventures of our beloved Ezio."

We're currently playing Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection, and we'll share our thoughts on Ubisoft's remastered trilogy in due course.
