Ubisoft have been one of few large publishers to embrace VR technology from the start and one of their VR projects, as revealed at this weekend's PlayStation Experience, is Eagle Flight. In a future where man has left Earth you're an Eagle flying over Paris that nature is in the process of reclaiming. The game will feature dogfighting for up to six players across two modes, for the solo bird there are collectibles, ring parkour and shooting challenges.

One area where Ubisoft Montreal have focussed much attention is controls you will set your trajectory via head motions. This in turn is part of Ubisoft's efforts to reduce motion sickness or as Ubisoft put it: "Thanks to the intuitive controls, high frames-per-second count, and many other developments that greatly reduce motion sickness, Eagle Flight is a full VR game that can be enjoyed by everyone."

"We're excited to make the dream of flying come true with Eagle Flight," said Olivier Palmieri, game director at Ubisoft Montreal. "Virtual reality has created new and amazing opportunities for game developers and we wanted to offer a full VR game that took full advantage of the technological advances. With the breakthrough we've been working on, we're confident Ubisoft's first game developed solely for VR will be a truly enjoyable experience for everyone who plays it."

REVIEW. Written by Kalle Max Hofmann

"The peaceful feeling of flying above Paris, along with the background music and the sounds of the many animals around you, is great."
