As we reported earlier today, Euro 2020 is heading to digital platforms when Konami releases a free DLC expansion for eFootball PES 2020. This week also marks the start of the online qualifiers for the online tournament that's running alongside the real thing in the summer (assuming the whole thing isn't called off), with the first round of games viewable here.
All 55 national associations have submitted competitors, and over the course of the next few weeks, that number will be whittled down to just 16, with the best of the bunch set to meet at Wembley for a two-day event starting on July 11. Assuming everything takes place without a hitch, the winner will be the first-ever eEURO champion. The winner will also take home a cool $40,000 (from a pool of $100,000) and then get seats for the final, which is due to take place on Sunday, July 12.
"Our strong partnership with UEFA continues with the highly-anticipated launch of the UEFA EURO 2020 content for eFootball PES 2020," Konami's Masami Saso wrote. "We are very proud of our work with UEFA and all 55 national associations to bring our players an authentic and enjoyable way to engage with this year's EURO tournament - the biggest ever."
