Ahead of the Overwatch Contenders North America Season 2, the Uprising Academy, the sister-team to the Overwatch League's Boston Uprising, has announced a number of roster and coaching changes.

As part of the moves, Rick "GiG" Salazar and Michael "Mozser" Moser will be departing the team, with the latter moving to WISP. Speaking about letting these two players go, team general manager Andrew "Andrewkendo" Fiori stated on Twitter, "I want to thank GiG and Mozser for their hardwork and dedication this past season. I wish them the best."

As replacements, Ji-sung "Simple" Kim and Damien "Dank" Ryding will be joining the roster to hopefully help the team improve on its poor showing during the first season of Contenders 2021 Season One.

But, the changes haven't stopped there, as the Uprising Academy is also welcoming Ji-won "Arachne" Lee to its coaching staff. All of these changes are coming to ensure the team puts up a performance in Contenders that more closely reflects how Boston is looking in the OWL, where they almost made it as a West division contender in the Summer Showdown this past weekend.
