Valve backing Star Wars Battlefront 3 remake

Last month a story arouse that a group of Russian developers were remaking the cancelled Star Wars Battlefront 3 under the new name Star Wars: Galaxy in Turmoil.

The Russian developers at Frontwire Studios have gained the support of Valve, not only that but have been given permission to publish on Steam.

The team took on the project which was left by developers at TimeSplitters studio Free Radical Design (now known as Deep Silver Dambuster), and wanted to bring it back for the fans.

There are obvious licensing issues with Disney owning Star Wars, and EA producing the rebooted Star Wars Battlefront, which itself has a new DLC on the way. But maybe with the help of Valve they can get round it all? Fans of the original Battlefront series will certainly watch how this one plays out, as will, we expect, the lawyers.
