It's that time of year again, and after Steam users voted during the nomination phase, Valve has selected the most popular games for each category of the Steam Awards and will reveal them through videos on their website, one per day.

There's a total of eight categories this time, including four new ones - 'Best Game You Suck At', 'Outstanding Story Rich Game', 'Most Innovative Game', and 'Outstanding Visual Art'.

All of the nominees will be revealed by December 19, when users can finally vote for the winners, conveniently timed for when the famous holiday sales begin.

The nominees for outstanding visual art were the first to be revealed, and include Gris, Total War: Three Kingdoms, Astroneer, Katana Zero, and Subnautica: Below Zero.

You can see all of the nominees over on their website, and we'll find out who managed to win on New Year's Eve, just in time for the end of the decade.

Who are you hoping to vote for?
