Humble Bundle has revealed that Blue Manchu Games' Void Bastards will be landing on May 29 for PC and Xbox One, and what's more is that you can also get it on Microsoft's console from day one via the Xbox Game Pass subscription service.

"I love the deep simulational gameplay of BioShock and System Shock 2 - they aren't just run and gun shooters," Blue Manchu's Jonathan Chey said. "But I wanted to find a way to experience more of that gameplay without having to replay the same story over and over. Wrapping the shooter inside a strategy game turned out to be a great way to do that!"

The game throws you into a Void Ark in the Sargasso Nebula, and you have to find gear and upgrades to ensure your survival, while at the same time facing enemies that want to cause some trouble. There are various gameplay avenues to go down, and everything has a rather unique style that you can see in the release date trailer below.

This is the third new game released under the Presented by Humble Bundle brand in 2019, and when we talked to the team earlier this year at the Game Developer Conference (GDC), they said Void Bastards is "player-driven, very player-led".

REVIEW. Written by A. R. Teschner

"On the cusp of finishing the game you may look at the array of derelicts, supply drops, space whales, and pirate ships and find it hard to want to keep playing."
