Wadjet Eye Games are keeping busy. They recently launched Shardlight, Dave Gilbert assisted with the voice recordings for Kathy Rain and he is now fully devoted to developing his next game Unavowed. We caught up with to talk about all of things recently.

What is Shardlight then?

"Best described as a post-apocalyptic adventure where you play a young woman who's contracted a plague," says Dave Gilbert. "And she searches for a cure and over the course of doing that comes in contact with political revolutionaries, an elite ruling class and hallucinogenic drugs."

"I like the hallucinogenic drug angle, I've never thought of that," says designer Francisco Gonzalez. "She's just basically trying to make the world a better place. Essentially."

Gonzalez didn't have much to say about his next project more than that work has begun and that it's a "steampunkish detective game set in an alternate past". Gilbert who has been talking about his next game Unavowed had more to say about what's next.

"Now that Shardlight is done, and Kathy Rain is done, and now that GDC is like four hours from being done, it'll be the first time in like three years that I can really focus on my own thing and it's exciting cause I haven't done it in a while. And I've been thinking about this project for a very long time. It's an urban fantasy where you play a guy or girl, you can choose your gender in the game, who is possessed by a demon and is exorcised and it starts off, the demon has been exorcised and while you were under the influence you committed all these murders and horrible crimes. You can't go back to your old life so now you join this society, this kind of supernatural threat police society, called the Unavowed, to try and find this demon that possessed you and destroy it."
