War Drum Studios, the developer that ported Bully and Grand Theft Auto over to mobile devices, is teaming up with Studio Wildcard to bring the massively multiplayer experience of ARK: Survival Evolved to iOS and Android. It's the same game, with the same mechanics, but with fewer creatures than the PC and the console versions.
ARK: Survival Evolved for mobile is set on a big island with dynamic, persistent ecosystems and more than 80 dinosaurs and other primaeval animals. Up to 50 players are invited to share the same world, crafting, fighting, and of course taming and training dinosaurs. The game encourages cooperation by letting parties share resources, XP and respawn points, but there is also a single-player mode if you prefer to be a lone survivor.
A limited closed beta of ARK for iOS starts today (you can register here), with Android players set to join at a later date. The full version will launch this Spring on the App Store and Google Play as a free-to-play game.
