The upcoming standalone film The Batman has gone through some serious trouble, as first Ben Affleck quit as the film's writer and director, then hung up the Batman cape altogether. Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves has been silently working away on the script in Affleck's absence though, and apparently the last draft is really good, at least according to Warner Bros.

Writer and insider Umberto Gonzalez is the one that provided us with this news on Twitter, saying: "The studio loves Matt Reeves' first draft of his Batman script, he is currently doing revisions & the film is being eyed for a hopeful summer 2019 production start. Of note, the current DC regime is committed to getting this take on the Caped Crusader correct!"

What do you think the story in The Batman will focus on?
