Inxile's Brian Fargo only needed five words and a photo to announce and tease the future release of Wasteland 2 on the Nintendo Switch, as the picture, available below and posted on Fargo's personal Twitter account, shows the title screen of the Director's Cut edition of the game.

We received a few more details after the photo was posted, and apparently "the same team who ported Bard's Tale to iOS and Android are doing this" adaptation, a fact welcomed by the fans as that port performed well. However, it's worth noting that the original 2015 release of Wasteland 2 for consoles (PS4 and Xbox One) didn't run very smoothly, whereas its Director Cut, released later that year, fixed some of those issues.

The Nintendo community celebrated the news, and Fargo acknowledged the impact by saying: "I have to give props to Nintendo owners for your love of the machine. My Wasteland Switch screenshot had the quickest traction of most anything I've ever tweeted."

For those unaware, Inxile's studio head also recalled that the DLC mention on that screen "was our poking fun at DLC".

REVIEW. Written by Mike Holmes

"From time to time the pace drops away, but for the most part this is an enthralling and engaging role-playing game."
