Last week we went to Seattle, Bungie's hometown, to play a proper portion of Destiny 2, and although we can't really share everything we've seen and experienced yet, we do have a couple of things we can talk about. A specific part we can't really deal with is the game's campaign and the parts it includes, but we can talk about one of the game's areas, the massive European Dead Zone, and show you a bit of it for yourselves.

The area itself is overgrown, full of trees and old buildings, and packed with secrets to find, and in here we played the adventure mission "Unsafe At Any Speed", exploring Lost Sectors, participating in public events, and opening chests filled with loot not to mention some combat, as is to be expected. In the European Dead Zone you'll be able to get acquainted with a whole new character called Devrim Kay, and he sits in the church tower with his sniper rifle doing everything he can to protect the neighborhood. He's the destination's commissioner and can provide you with both weapons and equipment.

Destiny 2

The European Dead Zone is large, much larger than those found in the first Destiny, and in addition to the main and page assignments, you'll also be able to find secret enemies and treasures everywhere. All the places you visit in Destiny 2 come with a map that you can easily navigate to see what you can do, where you've been, and how the geometry looks. You can even choose different places to land on to make it smoother to reach where you want to go as quickly as possible.

In the video we also use one of the game's new weapon classes, sub machine guns, and the variant we have in the clip deals solar damage and is extremely effective on various enemy shields. We're also looking forward to rocking the new / renamed Titan Class Sentinel, and with Destiny 2 being released in less than two weeks, we don't have too long to wait, and neither do you.

Check out our exploration of the Dead Zone down below. Are you impressed by what you see?
