Back in 2002 The Ring (based on the asian movie Ringu from 1998) was released in cinemas all around the world and popularised the "scary black haired girl" horror trope that since then, admittedly, has been done to death.

So now when the first trailer for the latest sequel, plain and simply titled Rings, is out we're intrigued to find out if they will be able to make it fresh again. The new movie is directed by F. Javier Gutiérrez and stars, among others, Laura Wiggins, Aimee Teegarden and Johnny Galecki and it looks like this one might be a little more action packed with bigger set pieces than in the previous entries.

Anyway, the trailer can be watched down below. And the movie will hit cinemas this fall. Prepare for more creepy imagery, murderous VHS tapes and well dwelling corpse girls when you go see it, though in line with most big trailers these days it kind of feels like we've already seen the full movie having watched the trailer.
