Developer Square Enix has generated a lot of hype around the reveal of the release date for Dragon Quest XI: In Search of the Departed Time, a reveal that took place today and gave us more information on the platforms as well.

The release date has been revealed as July 27 this year in Japan only, both for Nintendo 3DS and PS4. When asked about a Switch version, though, Square Enix said (via Takashi Mochizuki and translated by NeoGAF user Cerium): "It is still planned but no announcements today. Whether it launches together on the same day as PS4 and 3DS or not we cannot say today."

There will also be a price difference between the two versions, with the 3DS game retailing at 5,980 yen (roughly £43.58), and the PS4 version coming in at 8,980 yen (around £65.44), and a special edition will also be released, including a souvenir sword and a fake book.

A trailer has been released as well to get you even more excited. Would you like to see a Switch version though?
