We spoke to Marcelo Raimbault about spiritual game Areia

There were a lot of interesting games to check out at GDC in San Fransisco earlier this year and one of the games that stuck out was Areia.

There are games and there are experiences, and having checked out Gilp Studio's Areia at GDC in San Fransisco it's clear that it fits in the latter category. Areia has the player follow a character in a lonely world made up of sand and water and draws the player in with an emotional, spiritual world and the characters' link to that world.

We had a chat with Marcelo Raimbault about the studios' inspiration, the design choices and the interesting, unique gameplay mechanics recently and you can check the interview out down below.
