Focus Home Interactive has announced that Cyanide Studios (Styx: Master of Shadows) are currently working on a game based on White Wolf's Werewolf: The Apocalypse set in the World of Darkness universe. The game is set to arrive on PC and consoles (presumably PS4 and Xbox One). There is very little in terms of a description, but given the studio's heritage we assume it might be some form of action-adventure. Here's a short excerpt of what to expect:

"In the game you will become a Garou, a rage-fuelled Werewolf warrior opposed to urban civilization and the destruction it brings. The Garou are born to fight the corruption of The Wyrm, a powerful supernatural force leading us towards an inevitable Apocalypse."

"The world is dying. When will you Rage? The core question of Werewolf: The Apocalypse is more relevant today than ever before and the cooperation with Focus and Cyanide will finally give gamers the opportunity to revel in the raw power and primal spirituality of the Garou. What is the price of saving the world with fang and claw? Find out for yourself as we explore the darkest corners of a dying planet", says Martin Ericsson, Lead Story Teller of White Wolf.

It's been quite some time since we saw a video game based on a White Wolf property. In fact, Vampire: The Masquerade (2004) is the last one we can remember. Then CCP Games, of Eve Online fame, picked up White Wolf and went to work on an ambition World of Darkness MMO, but it was never to be and as it got cancelled CCP sold of White Wolf Publishing to Paradox Interactive. They announced that they would be looking to create and partner up for multiple video games based on various White Wolf properties. And clearly, as evident by this they're happy to let other video game publishers partner up and publish games based on the license. Great news for those hoping to see more World of Darkness in video games.

More about Werewolf: The Apocalypse will be revealed at the "le What's Next de Focus" event in Paris, February 1-2.
