ESP Gaming has announced that the first World Showdown of Esports (WSOE) will take place between October 14 and 15 and feature top Dota 2 players, available to watch via Twitch, where you can see CompLexity Gaming, Pain X, Alliance, and more compete for $100,000 USD at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas.

There are several competitive divisions which will have their own champions, and the winners will defend their titles at future events, much like boxing. WSOE also promises "year-round storylines" and will provide mobile, PC, and console games.

"Dota 2 is one of the longest-standing competitive gaming titles, and its rich history in esports makes it a perfect fit for the narrative-driven competition of WSOE," said Jeff Liboon, President of ESP Gaming. "The WSOE is an intimate, premium event designed to capture the spirit of competition for fans and players alike. We are excited to present Dota 2 fans a new opportunity to support their favorite teams as they vie to become the first-ever WSOE Champion."

ASUS ROG will be the hardware sponsor of this series and will provide computers, monitors, mice, and more for the event, which will start at 09:00 PDT each day (17:00 BST). More details on format will be coming soon, but for now are you excited for this event?
