The group stages for the League of Legends World Championships (also known as the Worlds) have just started as of yesterday, where there were clashes between big teams, each hoping to make the best start in the competition.

European giants G2 Esports, for instance, faced off against Korean team Samsung Galaxy in Group C, but G2 couldn't continue their EU dominance into the international stage, as Samsung Galaxy dispatched them to leave them with a 0-1 record, just like 1907 Fenerbahçe after their loss in the same group to Royal Never Give Up.

In Group B, the Korean dominance continued, as Longzhu Gaming beat NA's Immortals, leaving Vietnamese team Gigabyte Marines to face Fnatic to see who would join them at the top of the table. Fnatic seemed overwhelmed in that game, though, and joined Immortals with their 0-1 record.

That left Group A to play their two games, and one saw Edward Gaming take on ahq e-Sports Club, the latter of which came out on top. Most would have had their eye on the other match in this group instead, though, seeing SK Telecom T1 face NA team Cloud9. As much as both teams have a lot of talent, it wouldn't have surprised many to hear SKT came out on top, as they are arguably the best team in the world.

Did any of these results shock you?
