Japanese magazine Famitsu (via NeoGaf has revealed a release date for the Xbox One S in Japan. According to the site, Microsoft Japan just announced the release date for the console during the "Windows Innovation Day".

Square Enix's Shinji Hashimoto was there to present Final Fantasy XV on Xbox One S with HDR, a game that's currently in the news after the Active Time Report announcements.

The price of the console is set at 34,980 yen, which to us might seem like a rather large amount of money, but it roughly converts to around £265. The Halo 5: Guardians and Master Chief Collection 1TB bundle will also be available.

This attempt by Microsoft to again try to sell the Xbox One is commendable but, given past experiences the console brand has had in Japan we would be shocked if sales started to take off.
