Xbox One users have been enjoying popular media player VLC since early October, allowing them to easily watch video content (both DLNA and external device-stored) in more formats. The launch was thanks to the new Windows 10 Universal Windows Platform, and now the app has been updated with further options and tweaks for the console-specific version.

Among other things, VLC 2.1.1 allows for fast video seek by using LT and RT, same as with other Xbox One video features. Here are the full and updated patch notes:

• Added fast seek using gamepad triggers
• B will now close the playback overlay when it's displayed
• Fix default control panel button focus
• Improved media discovering performances
• Fixed tab colours
• General performance improvement
• Fix crash when browsing password protected network drives
• Fix mixed up channels when playing 5.1/7.1
• Fix too long media discovery
• Fix wrong external drive being browsed when 2 or more drives are plugged in
• Fix various hardware acceleration bugs
• Fix crash when displaying teletext subtitles
• Fix inconsistent background audio behaviour
• Fix duplicated display of network drives
