The expansive Nintendo Switch JRPG Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (read our review) is about to get its first title update (v 1.1.1), and the changes it implies are not minor, as it fixes progress-impacting glitches and improves map navigation.

This time, instead of just sending out the generic "improves gameplay experience" patch notes, Nintendo, and in this case the dev team at Monolith Soft., has detailed the specific tweaks via a devblog post, which in turn has been translated by Perfectly Nintendo.

First and foremost there were several glitches preventing users from progressing. The ones addressed with this patch were found when watching a specific cutscene in the Event Theatre and after getting specific quest items at specific times of the day in the Gormott Province. Several other bugs have been sorted as well.

For others, the improvements made to the map system, such as pressing the X button on the Skip Travel screen to go to the current area map or enhancements related to the mini-map overlay, will be more cause for celebrations.

The game's performance was one of its most criticised aspects and the patch should also make some not-specified improvements in this regard.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will then get a bigger update in January, including more improvements and additional quests. The 1.1.1 patch will be available December 21.
