During our interview at E3, Turn 10's Dan Greenawalt shared some interesting information regards how the team's implementing the Drivatar system, which pooled players' online data to create more realistic AI competition in Forza 5, into the racing sequel.

"We now have millions of data points from Forza 5 and Forza Horizon 2 too," the creative director explained when we asked about the system. "And we're able to pull all that into Forza 6. So everyone's Drivatar is already racing in Forza 6."

The team are tweaking the system this time round, offering players the choice to tailor their friends' AI counterparts, as per fan request.

"We now have a toggle, an option to make them more professional. You still get all their humanity, but they won't drive like jerks." Though Greenawalt acknowledges players have options. " You don't have to turn that on - its Forza, you have a choice."

The tech behind Drivatar is still surprising the studio, even in the older builds that powered their previous games. "As Soon as we got the new physics system working in Forza 6," the director remembers, "we plugged the older Drivatars in - they instantly learnt how to drive the cars that day."
