The Black Market in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was introduced a couple of weeks ago by Activision for players to get cosmetic stuff, rare weapon variants and Black Ops 4's variation on loot boxes, the Reserves. Despite the name of the feature, you can simply play (ridiculous amounts of hours) to reach the top tiers of the Black Market, but there's, of course, the option of spending real money to speed things up, as is standard practice as of late.

Now, Youtuber MatMicMar decided that the top unpaid level 200 wasn't enough for him, and started paying via microtransactions. The result? He spent as much as $1,000 on CoD Points, climbing to tier 934 in the process. However, as he was looking for the coveted weapon variants, he only got one new after all was said and done. He also writes he got a special congratulations message, and he plans to keep paying/playing until tier 1000, as "I think it would be cool haha".

Hahas aside, the value offered here bring back the discussion the ethics that go with this sort of business model even if there's obviously no real perk of spending lots of money in Black Ops 4 as evident by the exploits of MatMicMar.
