Reddit user Tizzlefix has provided us with what is potentially a very heartwarming story, as they noticed the name Corey Bunnell on the credits for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (you can see the image here), and this is why it caught their eye:

"You'll notice most programmers etc. in Nintendo games are all of course Japanese being a Japanese company and all. But I noticed an odd name towards the beginning of the credits (not spoilers since it's just credits), it was an English name. Now normally those are reserved for the translation section of any Nintendo game but this one was for programming."

"Now you're probably thinking none of this actually interesting, "Sure it's not unlikely that some non-Japanese guy works at Nintendo" and you're right it isn't but the interesting part is after doing a quick google search, I found this on the first page."

'This' was a post on Translators Cafe by a Corey Bunnell from 2007, entitled 'Post high school student seeking advice about Japan', and here is what Bunnell had to say:

"Hello. I graduated from high school this and I have not yet applied to any university. I plan on doing so but I am not sure what to do as of yet. For my senior year in high school I spent 5 months in Japan as an exchange student. Also before this I went on a three week exchange to the same school. Both exchanges were great experiences for me, and I really want to get back in Japan as soon as possible. I was looking into going to a 2 year language school which would enable me to pass the highest level profiency test. I found out that my local VSAC student loan center doesn't support any sort of school in Japan so I would have to pay for school out of my own pocket or through a regular expensive loan. This really puts a poison on me going to school there."

"My dream is to live in Japan and work for Nintendo as a game designer. I realise this is a very large goal but it has been my dream since I first played Mario. I need help figuring out how to achieve this goal. I know I would need to goto a game design school of some sort, and also get my Japanese to a level where I can speak and write professionally."

Bunnell then asks what advice users would give him to achieving this dream, and although we don't know if it's the same person as is in the credits, as Tizzlefix says: "If this is the same guy then that's pretty damn cool that he was able to follow through with his dream."

Do you believe it's the same person?
